NEW OXFORD - Helen K. (Heckman) Stine, 92, formerly of York, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Cross Keys Village, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was the wife of Ira W. Stine, who died on Oct. 27, 2003.
Mrs. Stine was born on June 17, 1920, in McVeytown, the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Ella (Grassmeyer) Heckman.
Helen was a member of First Church of the Brethren, York, and a past church deaconess emeritus. She retired as an office assistant for Dr. Dean S. Hoover.

Survivors include: a son, Ronald D. "Rick" Stine and his wife, Cheryl A., of York; a daughter, Sandra Stine Angell and her husband, Dr. Charles Angell, of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, Abby Book and her husband, George Jr., Jay Stine and his wife, Erin, Leah Angell Sievers and her husband, Michael and Dr. Jordan Angell and his wife, Laura; six great-grandchildren, Nathan Book, Evan Book; Anna Book, Vivian Sievers, Ruben Sievers and Austin Stine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Charles and Harold Heckman, and four sisters, Alma Lantz, Mae Bowen, Mabel Prye and Ida Heckman.
There was a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Cross Keys Village at the Brethren Home, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, in the Nicarry Meeting House, with Chaplain Dr. Merv Wunderlich and Pastor Donald G. Hubbell officiating. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery, York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 2710 Kingston Road, York, PA. 17402.
Arrangements were entrusted to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., York.
