The Port Royal Lutheran Church conducted a service Sunday to bless the new elevator installed in the 1854 church building. Pictured in front of the elevator are, from left: Janice Auker; Pastor Charlie Hershberger; JoAn Slautterback; Rev. Robert Driesen, Upper Susquehanna Evangelical Lutheran Synod Bishop; and Ann and Marlin Frankhouse. The congregation of the church installed the elevator to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, could easily access the sanctuary to worship. The elevator stops on all four levels of the church and is large enough to carry multiple individuals and large objects such as caskets.
