McVEYTOWN - Lewis A. "Red" Grove, 99, formerly of Rothrock Apartments, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord at 10:19 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at the Malta Home, in Granville.
Born Nov. 21, 1912, in Bratton Township, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Margaret A. (Ryder) Grove.
His first wife, Tillie (Kauffman) Grove, preceded him in death in 1987. His second wife, Wilma June (Pollock) Grove, preceded him in death in 2011.

Surviving are: six children, Betty Brown, of Lewistown, Elsie Weaver, of Granville, Richard Grove and wife, Karen, of Lewistown, Samuel Grove and wife, Pauline, of Granville, William Grove and wife, Dorothy, of Strodes Mills, and Wava Erb and husband, Bill, of Milroy; two brothers, Lloyd Grove and Harvey Buckley, both of Lewistown; 28 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and 59 great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two children, Esther Parchey and Albert Grove; four brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Employed as a custodian, he retired from Grantham College, and previously worked for the Mifflin County School District.
Lewis was a member of the Granville Brethren in Christ Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church, with Pastor Kenneth Grove officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.
