To the editor:
We would like to thank the Milroy American Legion Post No. 287 for their very generous donation of $10,000 to the Milroy Veterans Memorial Fund. This brings their total donation up to an amazing $20,000.
We would also like to thank the Yeagertown Volunteer Fire Co. for their very generous donation of $1,000. Many families have purchased bricks and donated money in support of the memorial and we are very grateful.
The Milroy Veterans Memorial will sit on the left, between Old Route 322 and Hill Street as you enter the town of Milroy. This memorial is dedicated to all veterans of the military regardless of whether they served in combat. Engraved clay bricks may be purchased to honor military who are currently serving or who have served previously. Families and businesses may purchase engraved bricks in honor of "All Veterans".
We rely on the donations of local businesses and the generosity of the public to be able to build this memorial. We are half way there. We are planning on a completion and dedication date of Memorial Day 2013. Please visit our website at www.milroyveteransmemorial.com for more information and check us out on Facebook.
