Deven Jackson, left, gives race promotor Greg Deimler a mohawk Friday night near Seven Stars, after the third annual Race for a Cause hit the $2,000 mark in funds raised for the Jackson family, which was chosen to receive the proceeds from this year’s race after 8-year-old Deven recently lost his feet to neisseria meningoccal, a bacterial disease. Deimler also had to put on a dress and ladies’ accessories and race down the front stretch of the track. A total of $18,000 was raised over the weekend.
