LEWISTOWN - Mifflin County Coroner Daniel P. Lynch has ruled the death of a Lewistown man whose body was discovered in the parking lot of the Lewistown Giant Store as an accidental overdose.

Dustin Mountz, 31, died of a severe cardiorespiratory depression due to a morphine overdose, Lynch said.

The autopsy on Mountz had been completed in August and those investigating the incident were awaiting the toxicology results, Lynch said.

Police said Mountz was found at 10 p.m. July 30, in the back seat of his girlfriend's 2012 Toyota Prius.

Lewistown Police Department along with Granville Township Police Department and the Mifflin County Coroner's office investigated what, at the time, was described as a "suspicious death." Also assisting with the investigation are the Pennsylvania State Police and Mifflin County Regional Police Department.

Mountz's family had contacted Granville Township Police earlier in the day on July 30 to report that Mountz had not been seen in several days, police said.
