Local doctor glad to see level of interest in hospital

September 11, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

I am one of the concerned physicians who have been working to "Save Lewistown Hospital."

I feel very proud and honored that we were able to generate so much interest in our community for saving our hospital that more than 100 people showed up for the annual meeting of the Lewistown Healthcare Foundation and election of new hospital board members. In my 35 years in this town, I have never seen more than a handful of people at the annual meeting.

I congratulate the newly-elected board members and wish them success in making future difficult decisions. I am very thankful to the administration for making excellent arrangements for the foundation members to hold the election in a large enough space.

We will keep the fire going to make sure that all of the foundation members are informed of future developments. Every member's participation will be vital. Every member will need to be personally present when the merger decision is voted on. Your decision will make or break the affordable health care of our community. Stay informed. Our only goal is to make sure that any decision that is made is going to be the best one for the future of the hospital and our community's health care.

Respectfully submitted,

Raj Malhotra, M.D.

Lewistown
