LEWISTOWN - Hope E. Treaster, 72, of Laurel Street, Lewistown, was called home by her heavenly Father on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the Lewistown Hospital. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 24, 1940, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Luther and Genevieve E. (Peachey) Snyder. Hope was preceded in death by her husband Gerald "Jerry" Treaster on March 7, 2009.
She is survived by: three children, Wendy Leister and husband, Mark, of Lititz, Bret Treaster and wife, Jennifer, of Lewistown, and Beth Updegrove and husband, Christopher, of Pleasant Gap; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Leister) Harp, Elizabeth Leister, Emily Leister, Briette Treaster, Braden Treaster and Ian Updegrove; two great-grandchildren, Logan Harp and Kyleigh Harp; and one brother, Gary Snyder and wife, Janet, of Lewistown.

Hope worked for the Beacon Lodge for the Blind, and was the current tax collector for Derry Township.
Hope enjoyed traveling and was an avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State athletics. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and attending all of her children's and grandchildren's activities.
She was a life-long member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 604 Electric Ave., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Davison and Murray Laite officiating. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
Interment will be in the Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery.
