MILROY - Roberta L. "Birdie" Ross, of 135 Mechanic St., Milroy, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, as a result of injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Feb 28, 1946, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Amy V. (Weaver) Baumgardner. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis L. Ross Sr., in 1984, and her companion of 29 years, Brice T. Hook Jr., in April, 2012.
She is survived by: children, Harry Aumiller and wife, Jackie, of Benson, N.C., Roberta Moyer-Isabella and husband, Matt, of Santee, Calif., Richard Crawford and wife, Chanel, of Petaluma, Calif.; Brandon Aumiller, of Milroy, Denise Aumiller and fiance, Jose Hernandez, of Lewistown, and Dennis L. Ross Jr. and wife, Misty, of Milroy; brothers and sisters, Violet Sachs, of Bellefonte, Bonnie Ritchey and husband, Russell, of McClure, Beatrice Rutherford and husband, Stan, of Lewistown, Tina Price and husband, James, of Granville, Pastor Michael S. Baumgardner and wife, Crystal, of Chambersburg, John D. Baumgardner and wife, Tanya, of Bellefonte, Harry A. Baumgardner Jr., and wife, Arlene, of Port Royal, Shirley Lane, of Lewistown, and Dixie Williams, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Michael, Kyle, Nicholas, Samantha, Amanda, Brian, Luke, Tawny, Karina, Alex, Cash, Rachael, Harley, Morgan, Logan, James, Justin, Jessie, Kayla, Brianna, and Amy; and eight great-grandchildren.
Birdie was a life member of the Brooklyn Fire Company, a member of the Eagles Club and the Burnham Fire Company. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends Joanne and Griff, Janie, Patty and Ruth. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed her mountain rides and her hoagies from South Side Hoagie Shop. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Michael S. Baumgardner officiating. A family viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. with the public viewing beginning at 3 p.m. until the time of service.
