McCLURE - Rachel L. Kuhn, 86, of Walker Street, McClure, passed away unexpectedly at 8:24 p.m. Monday, Aug 20, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1926, in Todd, a daughter of the late Merle and Mazie (Kuhns) Hoover. On Dec. 27, 1945, she married Paul Kuhn, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul A. Jr. and Judy A. Kuhn, of Selinsgrove, and Richard E. and Darlene M. Kuhn, of McClure; four grandchildren, Paul Kuhn III, Eric Kuhn and wife, Lorie, Kelly Kuhn and Gina Kuhn-Robatin and husband, Daniel; great-grandchildren, Todd and Tyler Robatin, Cory, Colby, Ryan, Maura and Hallie Kuhn and Nia and Stevie Page; one brother and sister-in-law, Merl and Linda Hoover, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one sister, Helen Kline, of Mifflinburg.
Mrs. Kuhn was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Steward Hoover, and one sister in infancy, Maryanne Hoover.
Rachel attended school in Joller. After school she was employed by Cluett Peabody, Beaver Shoe Factory and Hallmark, in McClure, where she retired.
Mrs. Kuhn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure.
She was also a member of the Lafayette Chapter 222 Order of the Eastern Star, Selinsgrove.
Rachel enjoyed playing cards, riding snowmobile, camping, spending time with her friends and especially her grandchildren, who were the love of her life.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with Pastor Daniel Robatin officiating and the Rev. Lisa Schuster assisting.
Friends and family may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in McClure Union Cemetery.
