LEWISTOWN - Lewistown Police Department arrested a man wanted for escape, and charged a 17-year-old from Lewistown with assaulting an officer, after an incident Aug. 16 in Lewistown.
Police said information was received from Pennsylvania State Parole officers, that Donald Eddy, 27, of Pittsburgh, who was wanted for escape for failing to return to a state halfway house, was in Mifflin County. The information was investigated by Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Granville Township Police Department and Lewistown Police Department.
It was determined that Eddy was at a Lewistown residence, and the police agencies joined parole officers at the residence, according to police.
At approximately 3 a.m.. as officers were attempting to arrest Eddy, a 17-year-old was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.
Eddy refused to surrender and would not come out of the residence, police said. After a half hour of speaking to Eddy through a window, he came out of the residence and was arrested without incident, according to police.
Eddy was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility on escape charges. The 17-year-old will face Mifflin County juvenile court action.
