Lee Letha M. Lynch

STATE COLLEGE - Lee Letha M. Lynch, 84, of State College, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Elmcroft, in State College.

She was the wife of the late Francis J. Lynch, who died in 1968. Lee served as a secretary in the Navy Department stationed in Washington D.C. after graduating from high school. Upon marrying Frank, they moved to State College for Frank to attend Penn State University and Lee was a secretary at Penn State University. Eventually they moved to Bellefonte and purchased an apartment building. Lee furnished most of the apartments with antiques she loved collecting and managed the building. Upon Frank's death, Lee took her real estate boards and was a realtor for the next 22 years. She started her realtor career with ERA Benchmark Realty. Lee then purchased a personal care home, Pine Ridge Manor, in Philipsburg, and managed the facility for ten years.

During this time she remarried to the late James K. Rhodes who died in 2002. Upon Jim's death, Lee took over Jim's painting contracting business and resigned from this in 2005.

Lee loved her family, her pets, and visiting Atlantic City. Lee attended the First Presbyterian Church, in Bellefonte, while living there. Upon moving to State College, Lee attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. During Lee's time at Elmcroft, she was instrumental in supporting a church service on Sunday evenings in the facility and with her encouragement the service grew in numbers.

Surviving are three children, Leslie Aikens and her husband, L. James, of Millersville, Jay Lynch, of Spring Mills, and DiAnne McClenahan and her husband, Taylor, of Lake Elisinore, Calif., along with seven grandchildren and three stepchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Road, State College.
