MIFFLINTOWN-Ethel Mae (Graybill) Brubaker, 84, of Mifflintown, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at her home.
Born Jan. 13, 1928, in Walker Township, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Lucy (Brubaker) Graybill.
She is survived by: her husband, Darwin D. Brubaker, whom she married Feb. 27, 1949; four children, Larry Brubaker and wife, Pat, of Port Royal, Peggy Palm, of Mifflintown, Susie Sharp and husband, Willis, of Stoystown, and Steve Brubaker and wife, Denise, of Missouri; one brother, Chester Graybill and wife, Ruth, of Souderton; one sister, Esther Peachey and husband, Leonard, of Belleville; eleven grandchildren, Jim, Robin, Curt, Phoebe, Megan, Amanda, John, Chad, Doug, Anthony and Jacob; and five great-grandchildren, Carson, Mackenzee, Khloe, Addysin and Jakob.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Anna E. Saner, Donald Graybill, Alma Brubaker and Wilbur Graybill.
Ethel graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1946, and was a housewife, garment worker, bus driver, farmer and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of Lost Creek Mennonite Church, a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher and a church trustee.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, with Pastor Sherman Stoltzfus and Pastor Roy Brubaker officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery.
There will be a viewing at Lost Creek Mennonite Church Monday, Aug. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, one hour prior to the services.
