MIFFLINTOWN - The Juniata County Commissioners approved several articles of new business during their weekly public meeting Tuesday in Mifflintown.
During the meeting, the board:
Reappointed Wilson Consulting Group, PC to serve as inspector for bridges in Juniata County.
Reviewed field assessment totals as submitted by Jeff Haines, chief assessor.
Approved the appointment of Joan Fulkroad to a three-year term on the Juniata County Library Board of Trustees effective Sept. 1.
Ratified the certification statement for County Children and Youth Social Service programs for the period July 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012.
Reviewed July 2012 Juniata County Children and Youth statistical report as submitted by Helen Henry, Children and Youth director.
Approved tax exonerations for Monroe and Susquehanna Townships according to materials provided.
Approved a Juniata County Hazardous Materials check for $98.93 to Wright Express FSC for fuel costs.
Approved the appointment of Rev. Edd F. Carlson to the Mifflin-Juniata CSBG Board to represent Juniata County.
Approved quotes for a replacement EMS transmitter and paging transmitters needed for pagers purchased by Emergency Services through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program as submitted by Emergency Services Director Allen Weaver.
Ratified checks Nos. 35,597 to 35,642 in the amount of $111,017.45.
Approved checks Nos. 35,643 to 35,714 in the amount of $78,120.80.
Also at the meeting, Jamie Shrawder and David Grey presented an update on the Walnut sewer project. Shrawder said she is anticipating completion of the project this month.
