Margaret ‘Peg’ Stewart

GRANVILLE - Margaret "Peg" (Stine) Stewart, 90, formerly of the Newton Hamilton area, died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the Malta Home.

Born May 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John F. Sr. and Mabel (Kearns) Stine.

She married James C. Stewart Jr., who preceded her in death.

Margaret is survived by: son, David Randall Stewart and wife, Vicki, of Newton Hamilton; daughter, Deborah L. Hudak and husband, John, of Duncannon; grandchildren, Thad and wife, Jaki, of State College, and Eric Stewart and wife, Amy, of Herndon, Va.; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, Mark, Matthew and Holly.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Walter and John F. Stine Jr.

Mrs. Stewart was the McVeytown-Oliver High School class of 1940 valedictorian. She was primarily a homemaker and farmer.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Fort Granville Grange, the Order of the Eastern Star, Lewistown, and the Atkinson Mills Senior Citizens.

A public graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, with Pastor Gerald Peachey officiating.

Private viewing will be held at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union.
