HUNTINGDON - Victor H. John Jr., 66, of 9524 Stone Creek Ridge Road, Huntingdon, died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born Sept. 15, 1945, in Altoona, he was the son of Victor H. Sr. and Nettie (Bromall) John. His wife, Marsha A. Gressley, whom he married Nov. 23, 1968, survives at their home.
Victor is survived by: daughter, Nicole A. John, of Laurel, Del.; grandsons, Dylan John and Devon John, of Laurel, Del.; sister, Paulette Hiller and husband, Karl, of Lebanon, Ind.
He loved to fish and was a member of the Raystown Striper Club and Camp Pete Hunting Camp, Reedsville. He was of the Protestant faith.
He was employed at AT&T for more than 30 years, first as a groundman, then as a splicer-construction tech-senior tech and retired as a supervisor/manager. After his retirement he worked for Lowrance Electronics as a pro staffer until his illness in May.
Victor was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War with Company C. 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, of Camp LeJeune, N.C.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Mount Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Huntingdon.
