LEWISTOWN - John I. Johnson, 83, of 377 Cottage Place, Lewistown, died at 5:35 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at The Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
Born Nov. 4, 1928, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Bert M. and Emma E. (Myers) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris A. (Kauffman) Johnson in March 1992, and his second wife, Mary Ruth (Clouser) Moore Johnson, in 2002, and six brothers.
John is survived by his daughter, Sue E. Johnson and fiance, Paul Osvold, of Millersburg, his son, Brian N. Johnson and wife, Kristine, of Chandler, Ariz. and grandchildren, Adam W. Johnson and Zachery T. Johnson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
John was employed as supervisor of payroll at Standard Steel, in Burnham, for 35 years, retiring on May 1, 1991.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Lewistown, F&AM 203, Lewistown Chapter, 186 Royal Arch Mason, Lewistown Commandry 26, Knight's Templer, Lewistown Council 591, UCT of America, AARP, American Folk Musicians Association and Pensioneers Club TWUA 6.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Roz Mason officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
