PORT ROYAL - Virginia M. Bryner, 89, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, and formerly of Port Royal, died at 10:26 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Village.
Born May 15, 1923, in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Vivian (Loudon) Landis.
Surviving are: four sons, Donald L. Bryner and wife, Pat, of Port Royal, Dennis R. Bryner and wife, Susan, of Honey Grove, Russell Bryner, of Port Royal, and Tom Bryner and wife, Vicki, of Walnut; one daughter, Vivian Fisher and companion, Terry Clemens, of Lewistown; one sister, Doris J. Notestine, of Georgia; and she leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Three sons, Harry M. Bryner, Robert P. Bryner, George D. "Pete" Bryner, and three granddaughters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bryner was a homemaker and loved animals, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Matamoras United Methodist Church, 5718 Mountain Road, Port Royal, with the Rev. Kenneth Kitzmiller officiating.
There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the church.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly requests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Bryner's memory to the SPCA Centre Hall Adoption Center, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828, or to the Juniata County Veterans Council, PO Box 1, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
