LEWISTOWN - Geraldine A. Rogers, 90, of Golden Living Center William Penn, and formerly of Goss Terrace, Lewistown, died at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the home.
Born on Nov. 19, 1921, in Newport, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel F. and Iva A. (Turbett) Stence. On Sept. 15, 1941, she married her late husband, Luther T. Rogers, with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 24, 1996.
She is survived by: three children, Thomas L. Rogers and his wife, Kathleen, of Etters, Susan Aurand and her husband, Steven, of Ferguson Valley, and Sally Rogers and William Loudenslager, of New Lancaster Valley; and she leaves behind four grandchildren, Dan Rogers and his wife, Michelle, Mike Fink, Kim Aurand and her husband, Jay, and Ty Aurand; and two great-grandchildren, Quilan Williams and Aiden Aurand.
On April 3, 1996, one son, Richard L. Rogers, preceded her in death.
Geraldine was a member of the Arch Rock United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, and attended the First Church of the Brethren, Lewistown.
In earlier life, Mrs. Rogers was a seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Lewistown, retiring with more than 24 and one-half years of service.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Douglas Sherlock officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
The family requests no flowers and kindly asks that donations in Mrs. Rogers memory be made to the charity of one's choice.
