MIFFLINTOWN - Ralph W. Lauver, 78, of Mifflintown, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Bridges at Brookline.
Born May 2, 1934, in Mifflintown, he was the son of the late John W. and Helen (Guss) Lauver. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly (Corson) Lauver, on June 11, 1999, and is survived by his second wife, Patricia (Freed) Garland Lauver.
Also surviving are: two sons, Andrew S. Lauver and wife, Rachael, and John C. "Chuck" Lauver and wife, Wendy, all of Mifflintown; three stepdaughters, D. Leeanne Garland, of Tampa, Fla., Tracy Howell and husband, Guy, of Mifflintown, and Darla Supplee and husband, Glenn, of Thompsontown; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army and was the former operator and owner of Lauver's Garage and Lauver's Busing. He drove school bus for many years.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir. He was a very active member of the Juniata High School Band Boosters for many years and supported the band in parades, enjoying his trips to Florida with them. He served on Mifflintown Borough Council and as mayor at various times for more than 40 years. He was a member of the community chorus, the Mifflintown Lions Club and Walker Grange.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. William Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday, at the church.
