MIFFLINTOWN - Jay C. Wagner, of Mifflintown, passed away at approximately 8:50 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Lewistown Hospital.
He was born Aug. 27, 1922, the son of the late Harry and Tressie Wagner.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey U. Wagner, to whom he was married for 69 years. Together, they had five children: Jackie E. Watters, wife of Ralph G. Watters, of Elizabethtown, J. Michael Wagner, husband of Margie Wagner, of Mifflintown, Joyce A. Barton, wife of Joseph S. Barton, of Milroy, James M. Wagner, husband of Debby Wagner, of Mifflintown, and Jan E. Messerman, wife of Danny Messerman, of McClure.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by: two sisters, Betty Miller, of Clearfield, and Hope Downing, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Dick Wagner, of Reedsville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Jay was a long-time member of the Mifflintown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Mifflintown Kingdom Hall, state Route 35, Mifflintown, with Melvin L. Messerman officiating.
