LEWISTOWN - Elisabeth Rupley, 96, of Lewistown, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at her home.
Born Aug. 26, 1915, in York, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Frederick A. and Anna (Besore) Rupley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred A. and David Rupley.
Surviving are: a nephew, Theodore "Ted" Rupley and wife, Dolores, of Lansdale; and extended family, Ginny and Mark Krepps and Jason and Abby Krepps and their son, Chase.
In 1964, Elisabeth became executive director of the Department of Public Assistance, retiring in March 1973.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and various social and professional associations.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Narda Druckenmiller officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, in New Holland.
