Dutch Days name quilt to be sold at festival

RICHFIELD - The theme of the 2011 Dutch Days Quilt is "Richfield Sportsman's Club Organized 1953."

The embroidery of the quilt features the sportsman's club logo, along with images of Pennsylvania animals.

The quilt was designed by Fawn Arndt and stitched and pieced by Jane Letson.

The theme of the 2011 Dutch Days Quilt is ‘Richfield Sportsman’s Club Organized 1953.’ The quilt is on display at the Richfield bank and will be featured in the fancy house at Dutch Days. It will be sold at the 2012 Dutch Days festival by Robert Leitzel, auctioneer at 10 p.m. on July 21.

The names were embroidered by Virginia Hornberger, Vickie Ray, Marion Foltz, Gladys Gingrich, Clara Stuck, Jane Letson, Carol Johnson and Amber and Jean Fawver.

Script was written by Michelle Ebright, and the quilting chairperson was Carolyn Arndt, with quilters Delores Bickhart, Leona Seaman and Carolyn and Fawn Arndt.

The quilt includes 825 names and the dimensions are 86.5 x 98.5 inches. The names on the quilt were embroidered in golds, greens and browns, while the border is in camouflage.

The inner patches are pieced in tan, and the back side of the quilt is fabric with pictures of whitetail deer featured on greenery.

The quilt is on display at the Richfield bank and will be featured in the fancy house at Dutch Days. It will be sold at the 2012 Dutch Days festival by Robert Leitzel, auctioneer at 10 p.m. on July 21.

The festival runs from July 18 to 21.

The Community Outdoor Church Services will be held at 7 p.m. on July 15 at Basom Park (in case of inclement weather, services will be in Richfield Mennonite Church. There will be music in the church tent from 7 to 9 p.m. each day.

The parade will step off at 4 p.m. on July 21. Registration will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Anyone driving in the parade must be a licensed driver.
