Thanks to many who supported Movie Night

June 29, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

The Community Outreach Action Team of Mifflin County Communities That Care would like to thank everyone involved with our third annual Community Movie Night for making this event so enjoyable. The event was held at the Hartman Center in Milroy on June 15. The entire event was free for local families and included games, activities, popcorn, s'mores, orange drinks and a free outdoor showing of "The Muppets." This event would not have been possible without the hard work and donations of local businesses, agencies and individuals.

Our sincere thanks go to:

Bruce Druckenmiller for the use of the Hartman Center and for his help in planning this event.

Mike Tate, David Barger, and Brandon Setford from GME Communication who donated their talent, time and equipment to show the movie, play music-synced cartoons and PSAs, and make announcements to the crowd.

Hartman Center camp counselors for leading games and other fun activities for the children before the movie began.

Brannon and Royer for the discounted restroom facility.

BMZ Law in Huntingdon, Lewistown Hospital, and Arbogast Crafts 'N' Such for their monetary donations, which were greatly appreciated.

Barrett Enterprises/McDonald's on Electric Avenue, Asher's Chocolates, APM Home Center, and D'Ann & Mark Mowery of the Ink Garage for donations of the orange drink, chocolate for the s'mores, popcorn and the popcorn machine for the event.

Mifflin County Children and Youth Services along with the Ink Garage for printing event flyers.

Mifflin County Children and Youth Services, Mifflin County Probation, Mindy Goss from GME Communication, and D'Ann Mowery from the Ink Garage for staffing the event.

The Abuse Network, Clear Concepts Counseling, and the Faith Based Initiatives Action Team of Mifflin County Communities That Care for providing family activities and community service information to participants.

The East Derry Fire Company for providing lighting for the event.

Mifflin County Probation for providing assistance with parking and other activities.

And we thank those who attended. As you can see, families from all over Mifflin County were treated to an evening of fun due to the generosity of everyone listed above. As D'Ann Mowery said, "This is a true testimony of how when everyone does a little, it turns out to be a great finished product."
