LEWISBURG - Phyllis J. Shawver, 86, formerly of Market Street, and the Manor at Penn Village in Selinsgrove passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born May 23, 1926, in Troxelville, she was a daughter of the late George and Jennie (Herbster) Smith. On July 8, 1950, she married Floyd J.H. Shawver, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2009.
Phyllis attended Troxelville area schools. She had previously been employed at Saylor's Garment Factory.
Mrs. Shawver was a member of First United Methodist Church, McClure.
Phyllis was a very active member of the Beavertown Fire Co. helping with the meals and the Easter Eggs fundraising. She also enjoyed shopping, local activities and especially the Beavertown Home and School club and card club to which she belonged.
Surviving are: numerous nieces and nephews, Robert Smith, of Campbell, Texas, Hope Greiner, of New Berlin, Dawn Hummel, of Kreamer, Barbara Waite, of Selinsgrove, Janice Klingler, of McClure, Carol Morris, of Mechanicsburg, Dallas Auman, of Green Bay, Wis., Rebecca Wagner, of Lewistown, Ellen Knepp, of McClure, Dr. Harry Brammer III, of Brookfield, Wis. and Lisa Dziadosz, of Cudahy, Wis.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Grace Auman, of Lewistown, Geradline Brammer, of Wisconsin and Vera Smith, of Lewisburg.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by one niece, Beth Auman and two nephews, Paul Auman Jr. and John Auman.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kathy Mercado officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
