To the editor:
United Way of Mifflin-Juniata would like to thank everyone involved in providing the training for the supervisors of the Mifflin County Playground Association on Saturday, June 9.
The training was held for the adults who are supervising recreational programs at the playgrounds in Mifflin County. This was a collaborative effort with several agencies and individuals working together and volunteering their time and talent to ensure the safety of the children who will attend the summer playground programs.
Special thanks goes to:
Mifflin County Playground Association - Nikki Hidlay, who coordinates the entire countywide playground program with local representatives from each municipality.
The Abuse Network - Beth Birch and Rebecca Mocshgat, who presented a session on "bullying."
Mifflin County Children and Youth - Mackenzie Seiler, who presented a session on being a "Mandated Reporter."
Fame EMS - A very special thank you goes to Fame for providing the site for the training and for donating the time and materials for the first aid and CPR certification of all of the playground supervisors.
Most importantly - the playground supervisors who attended the training. You have agreed to do an important job this summer and we appreciate you taking care of our youth.
United Way is proud to coordinate and host this event each year. The playground program is successful and safe because of so many caring individuals.
