Board expects action on prison at next meeting

MIFFLINTOWN - At a meeting Tuesday, the Juniata County Commissioners announced that they anticipate action on the status of the Juniata County Prison at their July 3 meeting.

"At the present time, it's anticipated there will be several agenda items referencing the status of the Juniata County Prison," Jeffrey Zimmerman, chairperson, said.

Also during the meeting, the commissioners:

Approved the Purchase of Service Agreement as recommended by Helen Henry, director of Children and Youth Services for Childrens Choice Inc., 211 Benigno Blvd., Bellmawr, N.J.

Consider request from Allen Weaver, director of emergency services, to use Hazardous Materials Response Funds to purchase a HazMat kit from Premier Safety and Service Inc. in the amount of $1,750 and a Davis weatherstation from weathershack.com in the amount of $429.25.

Approved checks Nos. 35311 through 35356 in the amount of $57,079.30.
