Coroner: Teen dies after being struck by train

KISTLER -Matthew Lemasters, 15, of Valley View Circle, Mount Union, was killed after being struck by a train early Friday morning, according to Mifflin County Coroner, Daniel P. Lynch.

The body of Lemasters was discovered along the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks sometime after 2:40 a.m., in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, near Kistler Borough, by a westbound train. Lemasters was struck by an eastbound train and thrown approximately 68 feet east of point of impact, according to reports.

Lemasters was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports state that cause of death was blunt force trauma. Lynch and Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown are investigating the death.
