Roy R. Weaver

McCLURE - Roy R. Weaver, 86, of McClure, died at 5:59 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012.

Born in New Lancaster Valley, April 9, 1926, he was the son of the late William L. and Minnie C. (Knepp) Weaver.

Roy is survived by: his wife, Shirley (Goss) Weaver, whom he married on Jan. 1, 1947; son, Keith L. Weaver and wife, Thresea, of Indiana; daughter, Sharon Kratzer, of Middleburg; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Enos, Mazon, Wilbur and Irvin Weaver, and four sisters, Ellen M. Aultz, Mabel R. Hopple, Sarah Weaver, and Rosie C. Griffith.

Roy was a work leader in the Melt Shop at Standard Steel for 42 years, retiring in January 1987.

He was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Kramer Sportsmen's Club and U.S.W.A. Local 1940.

Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, at Samuel's Cemetery, in McClure, with the Rev. Douglas Sherlock officiating.
