LEOLA - Makenzie Lauren Hess, 22, of Leola, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012.
She was the daughter of J. Kenneth Hess, of Willow Street, Pa., and the late Mona J. (Treaster) Hess, of Leola.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Kara Lauren Hess, of Lancaster, her step-mother, Mary Jane Hess, and her grandparents, Elvin and Velma Hess, of Strasburg, and William and Darlis Treaster, of Belleville.

She attended Locust Grove Mennonite School and Conestoga Valley.
She was passionate about environmental science and was enrolled at the Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College.
She enjoyed writing and playing the piano. She was an intelligent, sensitive, humorous, and beautiful person who will be greatly missed by her father, her sister, and family.
A celebration of Makenzie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with family immediately following the service.
