PALMER, Mass. - N. Anita Russis, 77, of Wilson Street, died on June 16, 2012, at Baystate Medical Center.
Born Aug. 16, 1934, in Mifflintown, she was the daughter of James G. and Nellie (Dumm) Pannebaker.
Anita served her country in the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War and was a long-time resident of the villages of Palmer, where she worked at Diamond National/Cascades. After many years of employment, she retired from Cascades in April 1998.

Attending services at Crossway Christian Church in Palmer, Anita also was a part of their Bible study group and enjoyed serving the Lord. She also took enjoyment in time spent gardening.
Anita leaves her three children, Ronald Lee Russis, with whom she lived, Peggy Diane Villarreal, of Tulsa, Okla., and William Robert Russis, of Richmond, Va., along with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Anita was predeceased by her brothers, George, Jim and Cloyd Pannebaker.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., Palmer, Mass.
Friends and family may gather from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dennis Marais officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
