Robert L. ‘Bob’ Dunmire

LEWISTOWN - Robert L. "Bob" Dunmire, 85, of 2 Bailor Drive, Lewistown, died at 4:02 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Altoona Regional Hospital.

Born March 17, 1927, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Robert L. Dunmire and Vernetta (Henry) Dunmire Catalde, and his stepmother, Delphia (Taylor) Dunmire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae (Herrington) Dunmire, in 1989.

He also was preceded in death by: his brother, William Dunmire; his sister, Helen Holland; and two stepbrothers.

Bob is survived by: his children, Karen L. McNitt, of Lewistown, Kim L. Kline and husband, Kevin, of Potomic Falls, Va., Kelli L. Rocco and husband, Joseph, of Lewistown and Kathy L. Folk and husband, Scott, of Burnham; his grandchildren, Amy McNitt Yoder and husband, Chris, Sherry McNitt McCoy and husband, Michael, Angela M. Rocco, Jacob Kline and Benjamin Kline; stepgrandchildren, Heather and Aaron Folk; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christina Yoder, Dylan and Wiliam McCoy and Rayna Folk; and three stepsisters.

Bob was a member of the U.S. Navy, who served for 20 years, during World War II and the Korean War, retiring in 1965. He was then employed at the American Viscose Corporation and was a production employee at Masland Industries for 12 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Lewistown, and a former member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge.

Bob was an avid PSU fan and a Chicago Cubs fan.

His funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Gerald Krum officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, where graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
