LEWISTOWN - James S. Mitchell, 87, of Kish Apartments, Lewistown, and formerly of Strodes Mills, died at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 17, 1925, in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Clarence E. and Anna (Felty) Mitchell. His wife, Betty A. (Long) Mitchell, preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2008.
His son, Ronald J. Mitchell, of Lewistown, survives.
His brother, Marlin Mitchell, preceded him in death.
He retired after 43 and a half years as a toolmaker at Standard Steel, in Burnham.
Jim was an avid fisherman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with his son, Ronald J. Mitchell, officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
