WEST MILTON - Peggy R. Cromis, 82, of West Milton, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her home, after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Hockerville, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Francis Leahy Thornburg. She married Freeman L. Cromis, Jr. May 20, 1952, and celebrated sixty years of marriage.
Peggy was a very dedicated U.S. Air Force spouse to Freeman for 21 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed antiquing and collectables, especially her dolls and Golden Books.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: two daughters, Gay J. Marek, of Lewistown, and Sue C. Remaley, of Turbotville; grandsons, Mathew R. with partner, Amy Mignot Remaley, of Mill Hall, and Ethan J. Marek, of Albany, N.Y.; a brother, Earl Thornburg, of Milton; sisters, Bernita Yost, of Lewisburg, Myrna Brady, of Marietta, Pa., and Samantha Ditzler, of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Tracy Cromis, and 7 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call from 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville. A private graveside service will be held at Church Hill Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
