McALISTERVILLE - William R. "Bill" Fogleman, 77, of McAlisterville, died at 6:22 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born on April 12, 1935, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late James W. and Margaret (McLain) Fogleman. On April 5, 1958, he married his surviving wife, Clara P. (Nace) Fogleman, with whom he shared more than 54 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Beth Scott and her husband, Charles, and Jill Snyder and her husband, Andrew, all of Dillsburg; and he leaves behind one granddaughter, Ashley Kuhl, of Langhorne.
Mr. Fogleman was a 1953 graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville, and a life-long member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, where he served on the church council, and sang in the church choir since he was 16 years old. He was also a member of the Tennis Lodge No. 371, F&AM, Thompsontown, and the Mifflin County Barbershop Chorus.
William retired in 1991 from the Pa. Department of Transportation Testing and Research Lab after 36 years of service. During his retirement, he worked part-time for several years at W. E. Schlegel Inc., of East Salem.
Bill was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed doing yard work; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his precious granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Erin Bovendam and the Rev. James Park Bricker officiating. Interment will be private in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
