Forrest L. ‘Hun’ Brower

McCLURE - Forrest L. "Hun" Brower, 81, of U.S. Route 522, passed away unexpectedly late Friday, May 11, 2012.

He was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Mifflin County, a son of the late Joseph and Daisy (Decker) Brower. On March 29, 1952, he married Barbara J. (Goss) Brower, who survives.

Forrest attended school in Alfarata.

He worked throughout his life as a self-employed farmer.

Mr. Bower was a life member of American Legion Post 942 and the Loyal Order of Moose, in McClure. He enjoyed salmon fishing, going to public sales, fixing cars and always especially loved farming.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Holly Brower, of Maitland, Steven and Cindy Brower, and Randy and Jacci Brower, all of Beaver Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and John Suter, of Australia, and Penny and Jeff Goss, of McClure; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Brower, of N.Y., and Albert Brower, of Lewistown.

Forest was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald "Jack" Brower and Warren Brower, and two sisters, Mary Wray and Bartine Spigelmyer.

At the request of the family, services will be private.

Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
