MIDDLEBURG - Midd-West held off a late charge from Selinsgrove after scoring five runs in the first inning to take down the Seals, 10-7, in Heartland Conference action Saturday.
Colton Keister picked up the win for the Mustangs, who had 12 hits on the day. Eli Stemm, Hunter Shuff and Zach Moist each had a pair of hits for Midd-West.
Selinsgrove started the scoring with two in the top of the first. Then the Mustangs exploded for five in their half of the inning. Selinsgrove scored two runs in the seventh but Midd-West held on.
The Mustangs travel to Line Mountain today.

Upper Dauphin 4,
East Juniata 3
MIFFLINBURG - East Juniata and Upper Dauphin played a solid, defensive game with the Tigers falling just short in a 4-3 decision in Tri-Valley League softball action Saturday.
East Juniata took the lead in the top of the fifth before surrendering a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning that sealed the game.
"I could not have asked our girls to play any better, they brought their 'A' game," East Juniata coach Joe Schilling said. "It just was not enough."
Ashlyn Erhard took a tough-luck loss for East Juniata. The hurler went six innings, giving up just two earned runs. She struck out three.
Upper Dauphin won the JV game 11-6.
East Juniata hosts Lourdes Regional Tuesday.
Centre County League
Blanchard 25, Mifflin County Stars 3 (4 inn.)
MILROY - Mifflin County Stars coach Danny Knepp summed up the first game of the season in three words: first-game jitters.
The Stars fell to Blanchard 25-3 in four innings.
Blanchard put up 12 runs in the second inning en route to the win while pounding out 17 hits in the game.
Mifflin County got a pair of hits out of both Colton Spade and Nick Bemenderfer. Spade added an RBI.
Cody Dolan had three home runs and eight RBIs for Blanchard.
Mifflin County (0-1) travels to Spring Mills today.
