Family thanks those who helped loved one

May 10, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

We are writing this letter in order to thank everyone for all they've done for Brad before, during and after his recent surgeries and other medical issues, which started back in Nov. 2011.

We first must thank God for His love and allowing Brad to still be with us in our earthly home. We know He gave the knowledge and talents to the doctors, nurses and everyone else involved in Brad's care and recovery.

We can't possibly mention every single individual who sent cards, prayers, prayer shawls, gas cards, love offerings to help with traveling expenses to Hershey, visits and phone calls to see if they could help in any way, but we thank them all so very, very much for everything. We must thank Pastor Vicki Elmer for praying and helping us through this with her visits to Hershey and Harrisburg. She was so very busy at the particular time but still found a few minutes to be there for us to lean on! She also told us about the Care Pages web site through Hershey Medical center, which we set up and has been an enormous help! We thank everyone at our church, St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Havice Valley, Milroy. We love you all so much for everything. We don't think we could have gotten through as well as we did without all of your help and support. We thank everyone at our sister church, Schrader United Methodist Church, in Schrader. We know many of you, but not all of you, but you still came through for us as if we were your own family. We thank all of our family and close personal friends as well as Mary's friends and former coworkers throughout Mifflin County School District and the Mifflin County Educational Support Personnel Association, Brad's friends and former coworkers at Case New Holland and Bobby Rahal, of Lewistown, the Main Street Milroy pool team, Brad's Civil War Reenacting family, Battery B out of Boalsburg, our neighbors for keeping us plowed (albeit only once!) and mowed, the Holland and Wagner families, Meredith's friends and coworkers at Daybridge Day Care in State College and their affiliate CCLC, in Hershey, and Rebekah's friends and coworkers at Lowe's, in State College.

We thank the Milroy EMS crew, a very special thank you to Brian Dietz and Cheryl Haubrick, registered nurses at Lewistown Hospital ICU, the Penn State Hershey Life Lion crew, and of course, all the doctors nurses, etc. at Hershey Medical Center, Select Specialty Hospital, of Harrisburg, and Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital, in Hummelstown. We would like to name every doctor, nurse, technician, aide, etc. at these hospitals, but there are so many and we don't want to miss anyone! We even want to thank Jennifer, an RN with our insurance provider, who calls weekly to make sure we have everything we need and to answer any questions we might have. Thanks also tot he Home Health nurses, physical and occupational therapists, Dick's Home Care and, last but by no means least, everyone at DaVita-Lewistown Dialysis Center.

We hope we didn't forget anyone because it certainly would not be intentional. We are just so grateful to everyone!

After more than five months in four different hospitals, Brad is home now and still has a lot of healing and strength-building to do, but we know he will be able to do it with the help and prayers from all of you.

His doctors tell us he might be able to go back for his final surgery as early as Aug. or Sept. so we're looking forward to that time.

Again, we are so very grateful to each one of you for each kindness and thoughtfulness that you have shown to Brad and our family.

The Snook Family

Brad, Mary and Meredith Snook and Rebekah, Glenn and Angela Strouse
