PETERSBURG - Noel D. Reese, 90, of 12724 Slate Hill Road, Petersburg, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Port Matilda, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Bennett) Reese.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Mae (Crawford) Reese, who died Sept. 3, 1983. His current wife, Gail A. (Lonberger) Reese, whom he married Sept. 17, 2010, survives, at their home.

He is survived by: a daughter, Noeleen A. Yohn and husband, Dan, of Newport; grandchildren, Dawn Michelle and Joey Albright; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Fluke and Tyler Seby. He is also survived by a number of special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Reese was the last of his generation and was preceded in death by: 11 brothers and sisters; an infant daughter, Deb Reese; a son, Gary Reese; and a granddaughter, Joanna Albright.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, at Guadalcanal.
Noel was employed at American Viscose, and from 1975 to 1983, he worked at Centre Engineering in the maintenance department. He was then employed by Greenwood Tree Nursery for a number of years before joining the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Greenwood State Park. He retired from the park Oct. 28, 2005.
He was a member of United Presbyterian Church, in McAlevy's Fort, the Lion's Club, in Petersburg, and the Youth Park, in Reedsville, where he enjoyed pitching horseshoes. He was also involved in a number of horseshoe pitching tournaments.
He enjoyed going hunting for turkey and deer with his nephew, Scott Reese, and friend, Joey Byler.
Family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Doug Pierce officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
