HONEY GROVE - Richard W. "Rich" Noss, 53, of Honey Grove, died at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, in the emergency room of the Lewistown Hospital, as a result of a drowning accident.
Born March 12, 1959, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was the son of John G. and Ruth Ann (Kilmer) Noss, of Honey Grove. His wife, Michelle L. (Rowles) Noss, whom he married on Dec. 28, 1984, survives.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by: his two children, Caitlin M. Noss, of Lititz, and Alex D. Noss, of Honey Grove; two sisters, Deborah S. Sweger, of East Waterford, and Cathleen E. Ford, of Honey Grove; and his paternal grandmother, Betty (Gilliford) Noss, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Mr. Noss was a 1977 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown, a member of the Pa. Farm Bureau, the NHRA and the NRA.
Richard was a self-employed chicken farmer.
Rich loved nature and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also had a large collection of racing memorabilia and die-cast cars.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will follow in the Academia Cemetery, Academia.
Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the funeral home.
