Richard Walters, left, and Brandon Moist, both Civil War re-enactors, explain the first national flag for the Confederates during a Civil War demonstration Thursday at Lewistown Intermediate School. Moist, a senior at Mifflin County High School, organized the event to teach the fifth grade students about a soldier’s life during the war, uniforms, tactics, equipment and flags. Moist marches with the 5th Texas Company F and will be part of ‘Sparks in the Park’ this weekend at Derry Township Community Park.
