Neons are in full bloom this season. It may take a lot of courage to let loose and wear Day-Glo colors, but it will definitely perk up an otherwise ho-hum ensemble. A fashion trend that was first on the scene in the '60s and then again in the '80s, neon is a little more sophisticated this time around. The bright fluorescents are making the scene on the Red Carpet and the city sidewalks.
There are many famous associations with neon. Think of Andy Warhol's '60s portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the bold art of Keith Haring. Neon will boost your outer sense of style. A bit of neon and you will be sure to stand out in any crowd.
One neon piece added to any ensemble is enough to create the proper atmosphere. It is easier to wear the electric palette of pink, green, orange or yellow on the lower half of your body. Bold colors look their best at a little distance from the face. Neon is sure to draw attention, so place it near your best assets.
If you are inspired to try out this trend, slowly ease into it with a bold clutch before you go head-to-toe fluorescent. For those who wear black, jolting neon can be a little intimidating. Accent neutrals like black, white or khaki with just a pop of color in a bangle or a necklace. If you are wearing all neon keep the jewelry simple.
Whether your style is polished or casual, there is a neon for you-from dresses to jeans, to bags.
Here today-gone tomorrow-here again! That's neon!
