Chester Leonard “Lenny” Gault

BELLEVILLE - Chester Leonard "Lenny" Gault, 68, of 210 Second St., Belleville, and formerly of Altoona, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 30, 1943, in Blandburg, he was the son of the late Clyde and Margaret (Burley) Gault Burkett.

Lenny is survived by: his wife, Mary Ann (Hinton) Gault, whom he married on July 9, 1960; his children, Shelley A. Monahan, of Harrisburg, Douglas Leonard Gault, of Altoona, and Deborah Lynn Gault, of Elkton, Md.; grandchildren, Breanne Monahan, Kristi Monahan and Zachery Lee Maher; a great-grandson, Brian J. Funk; and his brother, Ronald Gault and wife, Doris, of Cleveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James J. "Jimmy" Gault, and his sister, Barbara Jean Hollen.

Lenny was a world-renowned singer and was a recording artist in Nashville and Altoona, where he received the Golden Spike Award for his appearance in the Altoona Symphony.

He was the pastor of Blandburg Brethren in Christ Church for 10 years, retiring in 1990.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Allensville Mennonite Church, 1156 state Route 655, Belleville, with the Rev. Dwayne Issac officiating.

His family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lenny's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 342 S Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
