Eleanor B. Walls Shawver Miller

LEWISTOWN - Eleanor B. Walls Shawver Miller, 89, of Valley View Haven, formerly of Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April, 23, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Dec. 9, 1922, in Hawstone, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie Smitzer Walls. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Shawver Sr., on Feb. 25, 1974, and her second husband, John E. Miller, on July 9, 1995.

Eleanor is survived by: three sons, John R. Shawver Jr. and wife, Susan J., Jerry I. Shawver and wife, Autumn E., and Donald E. Shawver and wife, Cindy L., all of McClure; eight grandchildren, Melissa K. Lamberson and husband, Jeffrey K. Sr., John L. Shawver and wife, Tracy A., Brian P. Shawver and wife, Jennifer L., Heather D. Walker and husband, Ross, April M. Walker and husband, Scott, Brandi L. Wilson and husband, Ryan D., Renee L. Reed and husband, Jeremiah Jay, and Brock A. Shawver and fiancee, Ashley N. Nace; 11 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey K. Lamberson Jr., Kyle M. Parson and wife, Nichole, Shannon N. Lamberson, Jessica E. Lamberson, Daniel R. Kipp, Noah M. Shawver, Kody D. Harshbarger, Gavrielle S. Walker, Alexis R. Wilson and Lexi J. Wilson; one great-great-granddaughter Olivia M Parson; and family pet, Angel.

Eleanor is also survived by one sister, Flo Wileman Conners, and a special friend and neighbor, Nancy Kerstetter.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

In earlier life, Eleanor worked at Bob Spigelmyer's greenhouse in Shindle. She was Methodist by faith and was a member of the First Community Church of Maitland. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a member of Alfarata Home Makers for 10 years. She enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, "The Price is Right," "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune." She was a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan and loved to put puzzles together. She enjoyed looking at her flower beds and collecting bird figurines. She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday April 26, 2012, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating.

Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the funeral home.
