LANCASTER - Joan Kennedy Baker, 93, a resident of St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the home.
Born June 24, 1918, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Ella R. (Owens) Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Karl Thomas Baker, in 1988; brother, Walter S. Kennedy; and sister, Betty K. Reardon.
She is survived by her son, Karl J. Baker and wife, Karen, of Lancaster.
Joan was employed at F.W. Woolworth, in Lewistown, from 1936 to 1950.
She was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church and Lewistown Order of the Eastern Star.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joan's memory to the charity of one's choice.
