PORT ROYAL - S. Essalinda Shirk, 99, of Ridge Road, Port Royal, died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, at her home.
Born March 5, 1913, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd L. and Daisy L. (Deen) Walters.
Her husband, George W. Shirk, preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1996.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Surviving are: one daughter, Arlene Zeigler and husband, Charles G., of Milroy; one sister, Evelyn Hiltebeitel, of Delran, N.J.; grandchildren; great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Essalinda was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. She was a retired seamstress, who worked for Lyons Fashions, Mifflintown, and Rae-Sel Corp., Port Royal.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating. Closed-casket visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
