ALTOONA - Flynn Maurice Smith, 75, died April 10, 2012, at the Altoona Trauma Center, Altoona, Pa.
Mr. Smith was born in Lewisburg, Tenn., and was a son of the late Raymond and Bessie Smith.
In 1967, he was the first pro at Tofftrees Golf Course in State College, Pa., where he was able to share his love of golf.

Following an injury, Mr. Smith became a salesman for the Stocker Chevrolet dealership, also in State College, where he continued his love for meeting people, and the occasional golf outings until he retired in 1996.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Barnes Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Flynn Smith Jr., of Ga., Michael Smith, of State College, L. Michelle Young, of Reedsville, Christian Smith, of State College, and Kimberly Oburn, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Adam Smith, Danae Smith, Jared Smith, Tory Young, Tyler Young, Nyann Smith, Taylor Smith, and Michael Carper Jr.; and great-grandchildren Isabella Young and Patton Carper.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 17, in Howell, where Mr. Smith will be laid to rest next to his wife. Services will be provided by Higgins Funeral Home of Fayetteville, Tenn.
