To the editor:
I would like to thank the staff and editor of The Sentinel for the wonderful pictorial in last Saturday's Genre section of the paper. David Jones was my friend for many years and I had the pleasure to photograph Davy and the Monkees tours for the last 26 years. He was so generous to his fans, his community and to anyone who ever met him. He would sign my photos and mail them to me no matter what part of the globe he was on. I would receive news releases in the mail and they would be signed. Davy was really an evangelist; his music uplifted you and made folks happy. Anyone who ever saw him in concert would know that.
When he passed, I went to Beavertown and placed flowers and the last CD project I was working on for him at the gate of his home, Sprucelawn Farms. Standing there in silence I thanked the Lord for all the great shows and tours I got to shoot and all the gifts he gave me. Davy was the greatest entertainer I ever saw or shot photos for. He was an even greater man. I will miss hearing him sing. Thank you.
