HARRISBURG - Our dearest Beverly made her journey to heaven on March 21, 2012, at Homeland Center, Harrisburg. She was 71 and endured a very long illness with strength and courage. Beverly reached out to God in faith in her time of need.

Beverly was born March 13, 1941, at home in Belleville, to Ruth and Charles Hornberger.

She graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1959 with honors. Beverly was also a 1960 graduate of Central Penn Business School, where she met her husband, Cyril.

She worked for Diocesan Publications and Red Land High School.

She was a member of First Church of God, in New Cumberland, and served on the boards of the Harrisburg Symphony and Visiting Nurses Association.

Beverly was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, who was selflessly devoted to her family. She cherished optimism and was very intelligent, generous, and kind. She would always lend a listening ear. Beverly took each day and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed golfing, shopping, good food, the beach and traveling. She most loved laughter and good times with friends and family.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 50 years, Cyril, of Camp Hill; a daughter, Kathi Dunmire, of Enola; a son, Kevin Dunmire, and daughter-in-law, Crystal Dunmire, of York Haven; three grandchildren, Sarah Hollenbach, of Enola, and Benjamin and Kaylin Dunmire, of York Haven; a sister, Connie, and brother-in-law, Jim Kerstetter, of Sunbury; a sister-in-law, Barbara Long, and her husband, Richard, of Ocean City, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Gwen Hornberger, of Belleville; and other loving relatives.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darlie.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. March 31, 2012, at First Church of God, New Cumberland, with Pastor Charles J. Zahora officiating. Music will begin at 10 a.m. After the memorial service, friends will be received at 1 p.m. at the West Shore Country Club, Camp Hill, where there will be a continued celebration.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God, 323 Reno St, New Cumberland, PA 17070. Arrangements are being handled by Stone and Murray Funeral Home.

To all the very special people who helped, loved and cared for Beverly on her journey home, including Heartland Hospice, Carlisle, we deeply appreciate and thank you for your service and prayers.
