Rodney and Jane Young, of McVeytown (Atkinson Mills), recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married Feb.17, 1962, at the Brethren in Christ Church in Ferguson Valley.
Their children and grandchildren hosted an anniversary celebration on Feb. 18, at the Rec Park Community Center in Lewistown. The event was attended by approximately 180 family members and friends and included a special video greeting from Jane's pen pal of more than 50 years, Gloria Briggs, of Marlin, Texas.

Pastor Richard C. Grimes led them in a recommitment of their vows. The program also included music, special singing, a catered dinner and a special video and sharing of memories by the children and grandchildren.
They are the parents of five children: Julie Hartley and husband, Gary, of the State College area; Jeff Young, of McVeytown; Clinton Young and wife, Donna, of McVeytown; Dwayne Young and wife, Lisa, of Lewistown; and Melissa Young and fiance, Matt Stine, of McVeytown. They have 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way.
Rodney and Jane attend The Way Bible Church in Atkinson Mills. They attribute their commitment to each other to their steadfast faith in the Lord and desire to serve Him over the years.
